Frequently Asked Questions
How large will my Maine Coon kitten become?
I cannot guarantee the size of our kittens. Many factors contribute to size such as, genetics, nutrition, and gender. Maine Coons are slow growing and maturing cats. They can continue to grow until 3-5 years of age. Generally, males can become an average of 15lb-25lbs or larger and females 12lb-16lb.
Do you allow breeding rights?
Occasionally, I will approve breeding rights to established catteries pending location.
Do you require your kittens to be spayed or neutered?
YES! Kittens are required to be spayed/neutered before reaching 1 year of age. I do not allow my kittens to be bred unless we have come to an agreement prior to receiving your kitten and we have spoken about terms of breeding rights. I am not a backyard breeder and will not condone my kittens to be bred without my permission. I am very strict on this and have very little patience with irresponsible breeding practices.
Do Maine Coons shed?
Yes, they do shed. How much will depend on how often they are brushed and also, time of year will cause their coats to thicken or thin. It is wise to become in the habit of brushing your baby daily to keep their coats free from matting and off your floor.
Are Maine Coons friendly?
Absolutely! They are very friendly cats. Each has their own personality, with some being more affectionate than others. But, in general, they are very loving.
Do Maine Coons get along well with other animals?
If a kitten grows up with other pets in your home and your other pets are friendly there is no reason your Maine Coon baby should not get along perfectly well with other pets. Also, these cats, in general, love cat-friendly dogs.
